An ambitious officer, Jonathan Bell is willing to sacrifice the truth to gain advancement.

Story[]

Col. Jonathan Bell was tasked by the Army, under the secret direction of Senator Conrad, to prove that Major Marcus Reno was to blame for the Custer Massacre.

Bell and Conrad had the entire narrative prescribed and ready to take Reno down by claiming he neglected his duty at the Battle of the Little Bighorn by failing to reenforce Custer during a critical moment, and that the cavalry faced a small force of less than 1,000 indian warriors. Bell even had one of the Army's indian scouts, a man named Moccasin Charlie, willing to testify to that number.

Bell's plan was thrown for a loop when the courtroom was interrupted by the surprise appearance of civilian scout Cheyenne Bodie.
